State-By-State Index Of Adoption Search Resources

From my own search, I have become particularly familiar with Illinois and Ohio. Other states are listed below.

Those researching an interstate adoption face a unique situation. If your experience is anything like mine, each state will foist you off on the other, and neither will give you answers. The trick to this is to work both states. For example, you can apply for non-identifying information (non-ID) from both the state of birth and the state where the adoption occurred. One may give you more than the other, and you can compare the details.
